Governance And Responsible Business Practices
ALine GmbH maintains policies and procedures that support ethical conduct, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, human rights, responsible sourcing, employee welfare, and environmental awareness. Since the introduction of our grievance mechanism, no incidents relating to bribery, corruption, fraud, or significant regulatory non-compliance have been reported or identified.
During the reporting period, ALine updated its Code of Practices (COP), which has been published on our website and shared together with an updated and streamlined Know Your Customer (KYC) questionnaire. The revised process reduces administrative requirements for both ALine and its suppliers while maintaining robust due diligence standards. To ensure information remains current, supplier verification and review processes are conducted every three years.
Human rights And Employment Practices
ALine remains committed to providing a safe, secure, and supportive working environment. Following our relocation to new office facilities in 2023, employees benefit from dedicated workspaces and quiet areas designed to support productivity and well-being.
Office security measures have been further strengthened in collaboration with external security specialists and in accordance with insurance requirements, ensuring the protection of employees, visitors, and company assets.
Responsible Sourcing
Responsible sourcing remains at the core of ALine's business model. We continue to work closely with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical and transparent business practices.
The company has exercised its due diligence regarding respect for human rights. During the years 2023 to 2025, the company has not identified any adverse impact on human rights, either at the level of its employees or at the level of its direct suppliers.
ALine GmbH has also exercised its due diligence regarding the precious metals and gemstones supply chain. Between 2023 and 2025, the company has not identified any risk of sourcing gemstones stones from conflict zones.

Where the provenance of gemstones cannot be sufficiently verified, we have chosen not to proceed with supply opportunities. This approach reflects our commitment to responsible sourcing, even when doing so limits commercial opportunities. At the same time, we continue to engage with industry initiatives and have observed gradual but meaningful improvements in transparency among upstream suppliers.
For the majority of newly purchased gemstones, traceability can now be established at least to the mining region. This represents continued progress toward greater supply chain transparency and risk management. We are working on a system to formalize the maximum of information for our clients.
We are particularly proud that two of our key suppliers participated in sustainability assessments conducted by our clients. By openly sharing information about their operations and supply chains, these suppliers contributed directly to the development of more transparent and responsible sourcing frameworks. We believe that open dialogue and collaboration create trust and support positive outcomes for consumers, suppliers, and mining communities alike.
Maintaining strong relationships with countries of origin remains an important element of our sourcing strategy. During the reporting period, ALine conducted visits to two significant gemstone-producing regions.
In Madagascar, our activities focused primarily on the Full Circle Initiative and community development projects. At the same time, these visits strengthened long-standing partnerships that date back to the origins of ALine and provided valuable insights into developments within the local gemstone sector.
In Sri Lanka, multiple sourcing visits enhanced our understanding of local mining, trading, and export systems. These visits reinforced our partnerships with trusted suppliers and improved our understanding of how gemstones move through the supply chain before entering international markets.
Our principal supplier for order-based business has continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to transparency by hosting visits from several clients. This direct engagement has strengthened trust, improved understanding of production processes, and supported ongoing investments in infrastructure, organization, and responsible business practices.
Health, Safety and Environment
The health and safety of employees remains a priority. In collaboration with our insurance partner, security training is scheduled for summer 2026. The program will cover office security, risk awareness, and best practices for employees travelling with valuable merchandise.
ALine continues to improve its environmental performance through responsible waste management and efficient resource use. All waste is sorted and disposed of in accordance with Swiss regulations. Wherever possible, materials are reused, including cardboard boxes, gemstone containers, and packaging materials, reducing waste generation and supporting circular economy principles.
Full Circle Initiative / Community Development
ALine GmbH continues to support a circular approach to responsible sourcing by creating shared value with communities in gemstone-producing countries.
Our Full Circle Initiative, a partnership between ALine GmbH, the Wyss Academy for Nature, and ESSA Forêt University of Antananarivo, continues to develop positively. The initiative demonstrates how a portion of profits generated along gemstone value chains
can be reinvested to support sustainable local development and environmental conservation in source countries.
Particularly encouraging is the growing ownership shown by local communities. Community members increasingly make use of the initiative's services and actively contribute ideas and solutions that improve livelihoods while helping to protect and restore rainforest ecosystems. This progression demonstrates both the long-term sustainability and the local relevance of the project.

Objecitves
During the following reporting period, ALine will focus on the following objectives:

Continue strengthening responsible sourcing due diligence processes throughout the supply chain.

Review and update company policies annually to ensure continued alignment with legal, industry, and RJC requirements.

Improve resource efficiency and environmental performance through waste reduction and responsible use of materials.

Maintain full compliance with the Responsible Jewellery Council Code of Practices.

Increase supply chain transparency and traceability wherever feasible.

Continue supporting community development initiatives in source countries through the Full Circle Initiative.
To support these objectives, ALine has identified the implementation of a specialized gemstone-focused Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system as a strategic priority. Such a system will assist documentation, inventory management, and reporting efficiency while reducing administrative burdens and possibilities for mistakes for both ALine and its clients. With the help of an important client, we have found a possible solution, and we plan to compare it with another system an employee at ALine has worked with. We are discussing with other gemstone dealers and ask about their solutions. We know that we do not want a small company to program a system for us, to reduce risk of monopoly and lack of support/successor.
Challenges
Responsible Sourcing In Complex Supply Chains
One of ALine's principal challenges remains the responsible procurement of gemstones in an increasingly complex global environment. We continue to comply with our clients' sourcing requirements, sanctions policies, and risk management frameworks while seeking practical solutions that support both responsible business conduct and positive impacts in source countries.
We recognize that disengagement from higher-risk regions is not always the most effective path toward sustainable improvement. Instead, ALine advocates for responsible engagement that supports transparency, capacity building, and community development wherever appropriate and legally permissible.
Increasing Due Diligence And Reporting Requirements
The growing demand for supply chain mapping, traceability information, and sustainability reporting presents a significant administrative challenge for both suppliers and downstream businesses. While these requirements support greater transparency, differing client requirements often result in duplication of effort.
ALine supports greater harmonization of due diligence frameworks and reporting expectations across the industry. A more standardized approach would improve efficiency, reduce administrative burdens, and allow resources to be directed toward substantive improvements within supply chains.
Identification of CAHRA-Affected Gemstones
The identification and assessment of gemstones originating from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (CAHRAs) remains a significant challenge across the industry. Supply chains are often complex and fragmented, and reliable origin information is not always available.
ALine continues to work with suppliers, clients, and industry initiatives to improve origin verification, risk assessment processes, and traceability systems. Continued industry collaboration will be essential to strengthening confidence in sourcing practices and meeting evolving stakeholder expectations.
